Summary
Abstract: A broad-band seismometer (Guralp 40T, with Quanterra Q330 digitizer/baler) was operated at a site called "Nascent Iceberg" (located on the Ross Ice Shelf about 1 km north of a large rift expected to eventually break and produce the next iceberg from the Ross Ice Shelf) from November 2004 through November 2006. This instrument recorded during the October - May time period of each year when solar ... View entire text

SEISMOMETERS Ancillary Description
Quality The Guralp 40T sensor and associated digitizing equipment were obtained from PASSCAL and deployed in a shallow snow pit on the Ross Ice Shelf (near the AWS site called "Nascent"). Solar panels were used to generate power for a 12 v battery system.
