The images were collected as part of the Synoptic Terrain Photography and the Synoptic Weather Photography experiments during Gemini Missions III through XII. The extent of the orbital range for the Large Format Camera was 57 degrees north to 57 degrees south latitude. Vertical Gemini coverage is generally worldwide between 33 degrees North and 33 degrees South latitude. Oblique imagery includes areas beyond the vertical coverage range.
