Abstract: The Solar Backscatter Ultraviolet radiometer (SBUV) was on board the Nimbus 7 satellite. The objectives of the SBUV were to determine the vertical distribution of ozone in the upper atmosphere, map the total ozone content by measuring backscattered solar radiation in the ultraviolet Hartley-Huggins bands.
