Abstract: ABSTRACT: There are two types of Initial Joint Polar-orbiting Operational Satellite (IJPS) System Companion files: 1. NOAA AIP 1a telemetry file - contains the AIP minor frame data as generated on-board the satellite for the orbit. An AIP minor frame contains packed, or commutated, instrument data and other satellite data covering a time period of 0.1 seconds. 2. IJPS Ancillary file - a tar file ...

Purpose: PURPOSE: The primary mission of IJPS is to collect and exchange polar satellite environmental data between NOAA and EUMETSAT and disseminate the data to users in support of operational meteorological and environmental forecasting and global climate monitoring.
