Trends in Time-Varying Percentiles of Daily Minimum and Maximum Air Temperature over North America
Entry ID:
percentile_trends_na
Summary
Abstract:
The trends presented here used new daily air-temperature data sets to develop
the use of time varying percentiles that can estimate recent climatic change in innovative ways. Recent climatic change can be manifested in frequency distributions through a variety of changes to central tendency, variance, and other shape measures. Therefore, a comprehensive procedure for the simultaneous detection of trends in all portions of air temperature frequency distributions was needed.
