Summary
|
Abstract:
Myxospores were introduced to artificial stream channels with different flow regimes (slow and fast) and containing Tubifex tubifex. Worms were removed 201 days post-exposure and a Quantitative Polymerase Chain Reaction (QPCR) assay was performed for Myxobolus cerebralis. Data show the results of the QPCR, including raw Ct values for those worms that tested positive and a summary of adjusted raw data. Ct values indicate severity of infection and are inversely proportional to the amount of parasite DNA found in each worm.
Purpose: These data were collected as part of a larger study designed to determine the infection efficacy of Myxobolus cerebralis under different flow regimes using a laboratory model. All data from the larger study will be used to inform a risk assessment model. (Source:MSU) |
