Summary
Abstract: This data set consists of soil moisture measurements from agricultural
fields in the former Soviet Union. Measurements of gravimetric soil
moisture are from about 600 agrimeteorological stations from 102
administrative districts throughout the grain belt of the former
Soviet Union (Russia, Ukraine, Byelorussia, Moldova, Lithuania, Latvia,
Estonia, and Kazakhstan).

Data are freely available from the Global Soil Moisture Data Bank at
in ASCII and GrADS format:
