Temperature & Salinity Fields for the Gulf Stream Region & Gulf Stream Features from the Data Assimilation and Model Evaluation Experiment (DAMEE)
Entry ID:
DAMEE
Summary
Abstract:
Under the sponsorship of the Navy Ocean Modeling and Prediction (NOMP)
Program, the Institute for Naval Oceanographic Research (INO), in cooperation with the Naval Research Laboratory (NRL) and several universities, executed the Data Assimilation and Model Evaluation Experiment (DAMEE) for the Gulf Stream region. The data products include a time series of 3-D fields of temperature and salinity, 2-D fields of surface dynamic height, 2-D bogus information of the Gulf Stream and rings, and XBT profiles. Data are available for several periods during the years of 1987 and 1988. See: http://marine.rutgers.edu/mrs/research/DAMEE/damee.main.html Geographic Coverage
