Summary

Abstract: This metadata entry refers to measurements of oceanic organosulfur compounds and oceanic halocarbons made by Sue Turner and oceanic ammonium made by David Hydes during the Challenger 61 research cruise in the North Sea as part of the North Sea Project. The cruise began on 21st September 1989 and ended on 3rd October 1989 with a spatial coverage of +51N to +56N latitude and +2W to +8E longitude.

-103 measurements of the concentration of dimethylsulphoniopropionate (DMSP) per unit volume of the water column (dissolved plus reactive particulate GF/C phase) by filtration and gas chromatography;
-105 measurements of the concentration of dimethylsulphoniopropionate (DMSP) per unit volume of the water column (particulate GF/C phase) by filtration and gas chromatography;
-1 measurement of the concentration of dimethylsulphoniopropionate (DMSP) per unit volume of the water column (dissolved plus reactive particulate phase) by gas chromatography;
-3 measurements of the concentration of dimethylsulphide + dimethylsulphoniopropionate (DMS+DMSP) per unit volume of the water column (dissolved plus reactive particulate GF/C phase) by gas chromatography; and
