Summary
Abstract:
The Japan Weather Association (JWA) has been providing satellite data
services for NOAA AVHRR daily images since 1984. During data processing, HRPT data is generated with in-flight calibration and additional processed with geometric correction. Geometric correction is applied to three areas. The first covers all of Japan including the neighboring seas, and the spatial resolution is about 2.5 km. The second covers east Japan, and the third does west Japan. These two areas are provided for land users chiefly, and the spatial resolution is about 1.3 km. JWA has provided AVHRR data by floppy disk and magnetic tape (1/2 inch, 8mm DAT).Recently, JWA started to provide distribution of AVHRR images through value added networks. Geographic Coverage
