Summary
Abstract:
NOAA's operational polar orbiting satellite TIROS-N/NOAA series HRPT
data has been received at the Meteorological Satellite Center (MSC), Japan Meteorological Agency (JMA). HRPT data has been stored on magnetictapes at MSC and the Japan Weather Association (JWA) has been distribut-ing duplicate HRPT magnetic tapes for users on a non-real time basis since 1981. Since 1986, JWA has provided this data on a real time basis. JWA has received HRPT data through a high speed optical line from MSC/JMA. Since 1984, JWA has been archiving day pass NOAA data once a day. Since March 1987, JWA has been receiving and archiving whole day/night pass data for previous orbited NOAA satellites of two NOAA series satellites. Geographic Coverage
