Summary
Abstract: The digital map of contour lines of the Pacuare watershed in Costa Rica was
part of Glenn Hyman's doctoral dissertation research at the University of
Tennessee. The digital map was used as one component of a larger data set for
constructing a sediment budget for the watershed.

The digital map is in the public domain and can be used for a wide range of
analyses in the fields of environmental studies, geomorphology, hydrology,
watershed management, planning, recreation and other topic areas.

Quality The data set was constructructed in 1993 and 1994 in the GIS lab at the Centro
Agronomico Tropical de Investigacion y Ensenanza (CATIE).

The contour lines were made from the following 1:50,000 topographic maps
acquired from the Instituto Geografico Nacional in San Jose, Costa Rica:

Barbilla, Bonilla, Chirripo, Pejibaye, Tucurrique, Cuerici, Matina
