Summary

Abstract: The gradient project studies the responses of 130 species to water and
nutrient availability gradients in Venezuelan savannas. Specific leaf
area and nutrient content, gas exchange and 15N and 13C isotopic
signatures were analyzed. The results will provide information on the
effects of water and nutrient limitation on leaf traits which are
relevant for savanna function. Collaborators: Lic. Desiree de Armas,
Tco. Eduardo Zambrano.
