IAI-Data-CRN_012_Marchesini_Soil_Temp: Soil temperature recorded during the massive flowering and death of the bamboo Chusquea culeou
Entry ID:
IAIDIS784
Summary
Abstract:
During 2001 a native forest in the South of Argentina experienced the
massive flowering and death of the bamboo Chusquea culeou, a dominant understory species. We proposed to assess the impact of this event on: a) the environmental factors and b) the population dynamics of forest vegetation. We recorded air and soil temperature, relative air humidity and light intensity under two conditions: death and green bamboo. We also registered the survirvoship, growth and herbivory rates on Nothofagus nervosa, a canopy dominant tree and Chusquea culeou seedlings. We recorded soil temperature using digital thermometer (Taylor) in diferents moments in the year. Geographic Coverage
