Global forest system boundary (1 km grid) from tree cover classifications from the Global Land Cover 2000 (GLC2000v1.1)Entry ID: MEAR_31
Abstract: Forest system boundary for the Millennium Ecosystem Assessment (MA) derived from tree cover classifications from the Global Land Cover 2000 (GLC2000) version 1.1. GLC2000 classes used to define the forest system are: 1 = tree cover, broadleaved evergreen, 2 = tree cover, broadleaved deciduous closed, 3 = tree cover, broadleaved deciduous open, 4 = tree cover, needle-leaved evergreen, 5 = tree cover, needle-leaved deciduous, 6 = tree cover, mixed leaf type, 7 = tree cover, regularly flooded, fresh, 8 = tree cover, regularly flooded, saline, 9 = mosaic: tree cover / other natural vegetation, 10 = tree cover, burnt.
Purpose: Delineates the spatial extent of the forest and woodlands system boundary for use within the MA.
