Abstract:
In the Disney Wilderness Preserve, Osceola and Polk counties, canopy species
density documented by size class data, collected in belt transects during summer/fall along a subset of 104 monitoring transects. The purpose is to document canopy species response to restoration activities.

Quality
Samplers undergo rigorous training in methodology. Botanical consistency is
maintained by the presence of/training by botanists skilled at identifying the flora of DWP. Data are keyed electronically in the field, to avoid transcription errors and samplers examine their field files immediately after sampling to check for inaccuracies. A data manager checks data for completeness and consistency with previous data. Taxonomic changes are incorporated into the data as revisions to species names; in these cases the original taxon is preserved as a separate field in the database.

Requests for data should be directed to the DWP Research Coordinator. Data will
be provided in electronic format.

Any reports or publications presenting or referring to these datasets must be
