Summary
Abstract:
The Coral Reef Monitoring Project is designed to monitor the status
and trends of coral reef populations in the FLorida Keys National Marine Sanctuary (FKNMS). Forty sites were sampled annually for species number (s), percent cover of corals and other reef organsim functional groups, and record incidence of coral disease. The 40 sites include 9 hardbottom reefs, 10 patch reefs, and 23 offshore reefs distributed throughout the Upper, Middle, and Lower Florida Keys from Key Largo to Key West.
