Summary
Abstract: Thunderstorms Across the Nation is an atlas available through the National Climatic Data Center (NCDC). The atlas describes all aspects of the climatology of thunderstorms and hail in the US during the 20th century. Since 1950, thunderstorms have created enormous damages--7 billion in property losses, 9 billion in crop losses, and over 12,000 human lives lost. The atlas has 100 pages with 77 graphs and maps and 33 photos.

Purpose: To make a wide range of climatic data available to researchers and the public.
