Summary
Abstract:
The aim of the marine gravity surveys in the Weddel Sea are:
a) to develop a model on the break-up of this part of Gondwana, b) to map the ocean-continent boundary c) to develop an idea about the evolution of the area since the break-up of Gondwana. Sample rate was 10 s, corresponding to 25 m to 150 m depending on ship's speed. Since the data have been collected over a long period of time, they are in various stages of processing. The following instrument was used: KSS 31/25 sea gravity meter. The geographical coverage is as follows: For ANT-VI/3, ANT-VIII/5, ANT-X/2: about 20000 km of gravity data have been collected in the Weddell Sea, Antarctica. These data cover the entire region from shelf to deep sea. Data are available on request, but with special arrangement. Geographic Coverage
