The Missouri to Massachusetts Broadband Seismometer Experiment
Entry ID:
PASSCAL_MOMA
Summary
Abstract:
In the MOMA experiment, 18 broadband seismometers were deployed
between permanent IRIS/GSN stations CCM (Cathedral Caves, Missouri) and HRV (Harvard,Massachusetts), providing a linear 20-station array spanning 1740 km. The goal of the experiment was to obtain new information about the structure of the core-mantle boundary (CMB), the structure of the crust and mantle beneath the eastern U.S. (including mantle discontinuities, mantle anisotropy, and lateral velocity variations), and the structure of subducting lithospheric slabs.
