Bioregulation of Growth and Development of Stored Product Insects (Methyl Bromide Alternatives)Entry ID: USDA0517
Abstract: The purpose of data provided by "Bioregulation of Growth and
Development of Stored Product Insects (Methyl Bromide
Alternatives)" is to aid in the development of technology to
reduce losses of stored commodites to insect pests through
research on bioregulation and selective inhibition of transport
and function of macromolecules in specific tissues of stored
Collection ... Organzation: USDA Agricultural Research Service
Collection Methodology: Biochemical methodology, immunological
techniques, tissue culture, molecular biological approaches and
electron microscopic methods used to examine receptor-mediated
transport of macromolecules in tissues of stored product
lepidoptera. The receptors involved in the transport of storage
proteins and chitin precursors were isolated and characterized
so that the transport process could be fully understood.
Collection Frequency: Ongoing data collection.
Update Characteristics: Ongoing.
Data available in published manuscripts. Contact the data center
