Central Pennsylvania Risk Rating Plots, USDA/FSG
Entry ID:
USDA_FS86
Summary
Abstract:
Intially used for short-term impacts of gyspy moth on forest and to
refine hazard rating systems developed by Herrick and Gansner. Plots were subsetted in 1986-subset was used to monitor long-term impacts and stand recovery. "Central Pennsylvania Risk Rating Plots" is a long-term dataset monitoring gypsy moth defoliations. Plots monitored during 1978 to 1986 were located across Central Pennsylvania--roughly between State College, Lewisburg, Harrisburg, and Lewistown, Pennsylvania. Plots monitored during 1986 to 1993 were also located in Central Pennsylvania--within the boundaries of Tuscarpra and Bald Eagle State Forests. This area includes some of the most extensive and highest quality oak forests in Pennsylvania.
