Abstract: This dataset provides a GIS coverage showing areas burnt in East
Kalimantan area in Indonesia in 1997-1998.

After the severe fire episodes during the El Nino-Southern
Oscillation (ENSO) events of 1982-83, 1991 and 1994 a prolonged and
extremely severe fire season occurred during the last ENSO of 1997-98
