Flammability of Native Understory Species in Pine Flatwood and Hardwood Hammock Ecosystems and Implications for the Wildland-Urban Interface.
Entry ID:
USDA_FS_flammabilitynativeunderstoryspecies
Summary
Abstract:
The data set contains morphological and flammability data on 10 shrub species
commonly growing in pine flatwoods and hardwood hammocks. Morphological data include height, width, leaf area, dried-weight by fuel class, peak heat release, total heat release, time to ignition, combustion, consumption, and sustainability. The purpose of the study was to determine the flammability of commonly occurring shrubs in pine flatwoods and hardwood hammocks to asses their contribution to fire spread through those forest communities.
