Summary
Abstract:
The Southern Oscillation Index (SOI) is the difference between the
standardized Tahiti Sea Level Pressure (SLP) and the standardized Darwin SLP measurements. The data was originally collected by NOAA/NCEP. The SOI runs from 1951 to present. An earlier standardized SOI runs from 1881 to present.
