Meteorological and snow data from Aboa 2009-2010
Entry ID:
FMI_ATMOSPHERE_AND_SNOW_ABOA_2009-2010
Summary
Abstract:
The measurements were made in the vicinity of the Finnish Antarctic research station Aboa (73S, 13W). The measurement period was December 2009 - January 2010.
The following quantities were measured: Over snow-covered glacier and blue ice: - downwelling longwave radiation - longwave radiation emitted by the surface - downwelling shortwave radiation - reflected shortwave radiation - spectral albedo Over snow-covered glacier: - vertical profiles of wind speed and air temperature in the lowermost 10 m - turbulent fluxes of heat and momentum - vertical profiles of snow temperature and density - snow grain size and structure (photographs) Geographic Coverage
