Soybean Residue Decomposition as Affected By Tillage, USDA-ARS
Entry ID:
USDA.ARS.CPCRC.SoyDecomp
Summary
Abstract:
These data are the fraction of soybean residue remaining over time
after harvest. The soybean were planted into wheat at the Bledsoe Research Farm, Pike County GA, on June 24, 1988 and harvested November 11, 1988. Samples of residue were air dried in a green house. 40 g dry weight basis was placed in mesh bags and returned to field at the time of harvest. The carbon was 43.15%, nitrogen 1.79%, lignin = 10.30. There was two cropping treatments: No-till and conventional till. In the no-till, the residue in the bag was left on the surface. In the conventional till, the bag was buried. The data show the fraction of the residue remaining from each treatment up to March 11, 1989. Geographic Coverage
