Summary of AfESG Protected Areas "This dataset is part of the African Elephant Database (AED), which is the most up-to-date continental source on the numbers and distribution of the African elephant. " "The AfESG Protected Areas dataset contains the major protected areas of the African elephant range states, which are confined to most of the sub-saharan African countries. " The AfESG African Elephant Range dataset contains the distribution range of the African elephant. "The AfESG African Elephant Surveys dataset contains the characteristics of the most recent elephant surveys. The dataset has two members: (1) a vector member, which shows the spatial characteristics of the surveys, i.e. survey input areas, and (2) a tabular member which contains all provided and derived survey attributes. " "Related datasets are the AfESG African Elephant Range dataset, which contains the distribution range of the species, and the AfESG African Elephant Surveys dataset, which contains the characteristics of the most recent surveys."
