Abstract: this experiment began in 1966 on a site that was originally forested.
The site then was used for potato,sunflower,wheat,pea,barley,lentil
The land uses in the experiment are: Rotation 1 -
wheat,maize,maize,pea; Rotation 2 - wheat,maize,maize,wheat; Rotation
3 - 4 x maize. Treatments: NPK fertilizers (20-40 treatments).
The soil at the site is described as a Hapludalt (USDA)
Apl 0-25 cm: ... blackish-brown very compact clay with polyhedral large
crumbs. B1 25-40 cm: brownish-grey clayey loam with dusty,
platey structure, compact. B2 40-58 cm: reddish-brown compact clay with
prismatic structure and clay lessivation, ferric spots. BC
58-105 cm: brown compact clay with block-like structure and ferric
spots. C 105-130 cm: light brown clay with ferric spots.
Nearest meteorological station to the site: Miskolc. which is 33 km
from the site. The meteorological station is manual.
