Summary
Abstract: The Fire Product: Burnt Area Mapping in Eastern Spain was part of the
International Geosphere-Biosphere Programme Data and Information
System (IGBP-DIS) Regional Satellite Fire Data Compilation CD-ROM.

Thirty-five large scale forest fires which took place in Eastern Spain
from April to August 1994 have been mapped by means of NOAA11-AVHRR
images. Mapping is carried out by comparing the values of the
vegetation index NDVI before and after the fire occurrence using an
automatic procedure developed in the LATUV Laboratory.
