The ECOTRAD project has a specific home page incorporated in the Aboriginal Ecotourism web site. The AE web site is a collaborative research project connecting 200 aboriginal tourism initiatives from around the world so that they can exchange information and the many lessons learned, as well as to promote them as tourist destinations. The site website was created using a Content Management System and incorporating a variety of integrated technologies such as Google Maps , web-based survey, forums of discussion.

Description: Aboriginal Ecotourism in Northern Canadian Inuit and Cree, Scandinavian Saami and Russian Nenets: an international collaborative research approach

The primary goal of this collaborative project is to bring together Aboriginal-Indigenous tourism operators, Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal researchers, and other stakeholders potentially involved in the eco- and cultural tourism projects of four communities, that is the Caribou Inuit of Baker Lake and the nine Cree First Nations of Eeyou Istchee around James Bay, the Saami herders of Övre Soppero, Sweden, and the Nenet of Northeastern Russia

Description: Indigenous Communities, Tourism and Biodiversity Workshop Series: New Information and Web Based Technologies

The first workshop focused on the Arctic region in recognition of 2007 as the International Polar Year, and considered the distinct challenges of remote rural Arctic destinations. articipants worked with individual computers in small groups to examine existing reference websites, and exchange lessons learned on their own website development and management practices. To facilitate the exchange of experiences, participants produced quality indicators in three important areas: biodiversity, e-marketing and technological tools.
