Entry ID:
NUCLEARE_YUCCAMTN_VIDEO2
Summary
Abstract:
"Used nuclear fuel is a solid - a small, ceramic pellet of uranium.
These pellets are lined up in metal fuel rods, and produce heat to generate electricity in nuclear power plants. But after a while, the fuel no longer produces enough heat. That's when the entire assembly, including the pellets, is removed. The assemblies are what will be transported, under guard, to Yucca Mountain in sturdy, shielded, metal casks..."
