Long Island Sound Study
Entry ID: epa_longislandsound

Summary
Abstract: The Long Island Sound Study (LISS) is a cooperative effort involving
researchers, regulators, user groups and other concerned organizations
and individuals. These people are working together to protect and
improve the health of the Sound by implementing the Sound's
Comprehensive Conservation and Management Plan completed in 1994.

Within the Long Island Sound Program, one can find maps including Long
Island Sound and watershed maps, and monitoring data including a
Regional Data Index and Data Depot.

The HEP/LISS Regional Data Depot provides a limited number of key
research data sets available for download. Some files are fairy
large. All data sets in the Depot have corresponding metadata
descriptions in the Regional Index, an online meta-database. Files in
the Depot are described by dataset name, file name, approximate file
size, format and recordset number from the Regional Index metadata
database.
