Abstract:
The Pan-European Land Cover Monitoring project (PELCOM) is a 1-km pan-European land cover database. The PELCOM project is aimed at developing a consistent methodology to derived land cover information on a European scale for environmental monitoring based on the integrative use of multi-spectral and multi-temporal NOAA-AVHRR satellite imagery and ancillary data. PELCOM is a three-year project as a shared cost action under the Environment & Climate section of the European Union 4th Framework RTD Programme.
