Effect of tillage system on growth, maturity and yield of corn and soybean
Entry ID:
PU.Agronomy.TillageSystem
Summary
Abstract:
This experiment was initiated in 1976. In the previous years
(1955-1975), the site had corn/soybean production with annual moldboard ploughing. It is estimated that between 1880-1955 there was mixed forage/grain production, ploughed two years in every five. Before 1880 the site was in native prairie grass. Rotations used in this experiment are continuous ... ![]() Geographic Coverage

Quality
There are at least 4 replicates in the experiment. The experiment has
a restricted randomized plot design. Split plot design with crop rotation as main plot and tillage system as subplot. There are control plots described as follows: Fall moldboard ploughing, most common practice on this soil for the previous 100 years, was included as a control. Yield data was analysed using Student-Newman-Keuls test and coefficient of variation. Years was included as a fixed variable.
