Abstract:
The Institute of Hydrology (IH) investigates the effects of land-use, climate, topography and geology on the volume and character of surface water resources. IH is one of the four Institutes that form the Centre for Ecology and Hydrology (CEH) which is itself a component of the Natural Environment Research Council (NERC). Research extends from water and energy fluxes to processes such as evaporation, interception and infiltration and to mathematical modelling of the hydrological cycle and chemical processes above and below ground. Below is a selection of spatial gridded datasets available from IH. For information on these and other available datasets, see the IH website. The data available can be licensed on an annual basis or by a once-off payment. For research projects, this fee is usually waived and just a handling charge is payable. |

In line with Natural Environment Research Council policy, the provision of its own data confers only a right to use the data. Ownership of the data, or the associated Intellectual Property Rights, will not normally be transferred. Data received from the Institute of Hydrology must not be sold, or passed on to any third party, but reproduction is permitted for the purposes of any fair dealing in the course of study, research, public debate of instruction, providing the source is acknowledged. |
