Abstract:
This dataset (along with Mapped GAC-Mercator) is the longest essentially continous and relatively homogeneous global product that has been produced from data collected by environmental satellites. The instruments were at first a vidicon camera system (visible data only) followed by an evolving series of scanning radiometers, including VHRR and AVHRR instruments.
