Summary
Abstract:
The data set is an Excel spreadsheet (available from J.T. Eastman)
that documents the museum location and catalog number of scientifically important specimens of fishes collected during two cruises NBP 96-6 and NBP 97-9 in the Ross Sea. These specimens are either new species, new records for the Ross Sea, rare species or taxonomically significant species. Most have been deposited in the Division of Fishes, Smithsonian Institution, National Museum of Natural History, Washington, DC (abbreviated as USNM). A few have been deposited in other museums around the world including MCZ, RUSI, TCWC and ZISP.
