Quality

Four current meters (S4_211a, S4_211b, S4_212a, S4_212b) were deployed in the region off shore of Casey Station, in Shannon Bay and Brown Bay. These provide good coverage of the currents and water temperature in the Casey offshore area. Data are collected from current meter S4_211a, and includes speed components, current speed and current direction, displacement and water temperature. The instrument was deployed in 18m of water at 5m above the sea floor. Data was collected between 18 November 1997 (GMT) and 29 December 1998 (GMT), with 1 minute sampling at 10 minutes intervals. For more details on the instrument please see the 'Mooring Details' section of the database. The data were collected by the Australian Antarctic Division and CSIRO, and processed from its raw form into the current database format by Oceanographic Field Services Pty Ltd. Please contact the investigator to view the S4 Current Meter User's Manual for details on logical consistency.
