Precision aerial photography is collected by the National Ocean
Service (NOS) National Geodetic Survey (NGS) Remote Sensing Division for the production of coastal survey maps. The georeferenced, high resolution photographs are used for a variety of geo-positioning applications, which include delineating the shoreline for Nautical Chart creation, measuring water depths (photobathymetry), ... ![]()

Occasionally a bottle would not fire. It is thought that the camera communication was interfering with the CTD messages from the ship to the rosette. The workaround was to fire the bottle directly after a message was received form the camera, then confirm that it had fired before starting to write down the details of the fire on the CTD log sheet.
