Distribution of Surficial Sediments in Long Island Sound, USGS OFR 00-304
Entry ID:
USGS_OFR_00304_LISTEX
Summary
Abstract:
The purpose is to disseminate a digital version of a regional map
showing the distribution of surficial sediments in Long Island Sound. Grain size is the most basic attribute of sediment texture, and texture controls many benthic ecological and chemical processes. This GIS layer contains an computer generated model of the distribution of surficial sediments in Long Island Sound.
