Abstract: OMEX-I was a multidisciplinary project to study the physical, chemical
and biological processes at the ocean margin of the Northwest European
continental shelf. Investigations concentrated in the Northeastern
Atlantic Ocean on the Celtic Sea shelf edge which links a relatively
