Measurements of underwater acoustics in McMurdo Sound
Entry ID:
K012_1970_1971_NZ_1
Summary
Abstract:
A two man party spent 6 weeks studying the attenuation and transmission of underwater sound in Antarctic waters and set up equipment for the continuous recording of ambient sea noises, continuous recording of sea noise, reverberation measurements under the ice, biological noises and earthquakes (hydrophones and cables). They also installed equipment for measuring the atmospheric potential gradient at Scott Base.
