Daily CTD cast measurements near the Erebus Glacier Tongue, McMurdo Sound
Entry ID:
K131_2005_2006_NZ_2
Summary
Abstract:
Fjords are a common feature in the coast of Antarctica, particularly in the Ross Sea region, yet little is known about the circulation within most of these fjords. The oceanography of Ferrar fjord was investigated with CTD casts near the Erebus Glacier Tongue. Measurements were made on a daily basis from a temporary site and are to attempt to determine the effect of a large mass of floating fresh water ice on the nearby oceanography.
