Japanese Ship Observations is historical data set DSI-1118, archived at the National Climatic Data Center (NCDC). The Ocean areas covered were wherever Japanese ships operated, except observations made at Ocean Weather Stations (OSVs) X and T, and Japanese Antarctic Whaling Ships.
