Summary
Abstract: Tides are measured using a submerged pressure type gauge secured in a heavy concrete mooring in Horseshoe Harbour at Mawson. Tidal records are retrieved from the gauge using an inductive loop lowered through a hole in the ice hence the gauge has been undisturbed since it was deployed.
A second submerged gauge was deployed on 1999-11-04 close to the first gauge.

Quality Apart from a gap of a few days in Aug/Sept 1995 and Sept 1998, the data set from this gauge is complete since deployment in March 1993.
