Summary
Abstract: This June 1997 release of satellite altimeter data collected by the U.S.
Navy Geosat mission represents a significant improvement over
previous versions. The ten CD-ROMs contain geophysical data records
(GDRs) which span both the Geodetic Mission (GM: 3/85 - 9/86) and Exact

Quality Orbit calculations using the JGM-3 gravity model have reduced the
radial orbit error to 10-15 cm.
Access Constraints Due to restrictions placed on the NODC by the US Navy, foreign
requesters must follow special procedures when ordering GEOSAT
data. Please contact NODC for further information.
