Subantarctic Foraminiferal Mg/Ca Data and SST Reconstruction
Entry ID:
NOAA_NCDC_PALEO_2001-022
Summary
Abstract:
This data set consists of Globigerina bulloides Mg/Ca as a paleotemperature
proxy. Indicated glacial-interglacial changes in sea surface temperature (SST) are about 4°C cooler in the Subantarctic Indian Ocean and 2.5°C cooler in the Subantarctic Pacific. Mg/Ca-based SST estimates and d18O determinations are then used to generate site-specific seawater d18O records. Data precision: Mg/Ca, ... ![]()
