Summary
Abstract: A suite of geological samples were collected in the Transanatarctic Mountains for paleomagnetic and geochemical analysis. Combined with field observations, these samples will help determine magma flow directions at upper crustal depths during emplacement of the Ferrar Large Igneous Province at c. 180 Ma. Paleomagnetic samples are oriented; rock samples average 1 kg. About 300 kg of rock was sampled per season overall. Samples are housed at the Department of Geology, University of Otago, Dunedin, New Zealand.
