Abstract:
The Primary Vertical Bench Marks, Canada, Level 1 (PVBMC1) are (approximately 80000) monuments established about every 2 km along major highways and railways across Canada. Elevations issued by the Geodetic Survey Division (GSD) are those based on the 1928 adjustment of the national levelling networks Canadian Geodetic Vertical Datum 1928 (CGVD28). The data format of the PVBM1 information could be GML (ASCII) or SHAPE. PVBM1 information includes geographic and UTM coordinates, orthometric elevation, marker information description, and inspection data. The primary vertical bench marks are designed to serve as a fundamental vertical reference frame for spatial positioning in Canada (the geodetic Canadian Spatial Reference System - CSRS). Spatial Data Organization Information - Indirect Spatial Reference: Direct Spatial Reference: Point Raster Object Type: Row Count: Column Count: Vertical Count: Spatial Reference Information - Horizontal Coordinate System Definition - Planar - Planar Coordinate Encoding Method: Coordinate Representation: Abscissa Resolution: Ordinate Resolution: Distance and Bearing Representation: Distance Resolution: Bearing Resolution: Bearing Units: Bearing Reference Direction: Bearing Reference Meridian: Planar Distance Units: Geodetic Model: Horizontal Datum Name: NAD27 (before 1991) or NAD83 (1991 and after) or NAD83CSRS (One of the 3 possible datum but unknown) Ellipsoid Name: GRS80 (Geodetic Reference System 1980) Semi-major Axis: 6378137 Denominator of Flattening Ratio: 298.257222101 |
